Assistant Pastor: Corporate Worship & Family MinistryLocation: Huntsville, ALStart Date: September 1, 2025Classification: Exempt, Part-Time (20 hrs/week)Compensation: $24$28/hour, commensurate with experienceAbout Redeemer ChurchRedeemer Church is a healthy, growing congregation in the heart of Huntsville, AL. We are currently renovating a newly acquired building in the downtown core of Huntsville, near Lowe Mill District.In less than two years, Sunday attendance has grown from a small core team (<30) to over 250 people, with new families joining every month. We are committed to biblical preaching, holy worship, deep discipleship, and a shared life rooted in historic confessions and present obedience.We confess the historic Christian faith as expressed in an adapted New Hampshire Confession of Faith, and our leaders affirm additional confessions such as the Canons of Dort and the Nashville Statement as faithful guides in teaching and practice.Redeemer is a member of the Association of Churches for Missions and Evangelism (9Marks).The NeedAs God continues to grow our church, we are seeking a part-time Assistant Pastor to provide leadership in corporate worship and strengthen our family discipleship ministries. As Redeemer grows, the role will expand in scope and responsibility, with the potential to move toward full-time ministry. This position is not simply a jobit is an opportunity for long-term pastoral ministry.To that end, Redeemer will provide full tuition for seminary training at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS) for the candidate who fills this role. We believe pastoral ministry flourishes when theological training and local church service are integrated. This role will allow you to gain graduate-level theological education while serving in a vibrant, growing congregation, preparing you for a lifetime of faithful ministry.The RoleAs God continues to grow our church, we are seeking a part-time Assistant Pastor to help lead our corporate worship and strengthen our family discipleship ministries. This Assistant Pastor will provide primary leadership in corporate worship while executing and developing family discipleship ministries.We understand that this is a part-time role, and strong candidates may have primary expertise in either worship leadership or family ministry, with a willingness to grow in the other area.Key ResponsibilitiesCorporate Worship (Primary Focus ~60%)Plan and lead Sunday worship gatherings in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.Select music and service elements that align with Redeemers preaching schedule and theological commitments.Recruit, schedule, and develop volunteers for music, tech, and A/V teams.Maintain worship resources and equipment, ensuring volunteers are trained in their use.Family Ministry (Secondary Focus ~40%)Support the development of family ministry programs, including childrens and youth ministries.Recruit and equip volunteers for teaching and discipleship roles.Lead and disciple middle and high school students, building mentor teams and planning monthly events or Bible studies.Help plan biannual family-focused events in collaboration with pastoral staff and volunteers.QualificationsSpiritual & TheologicalBorn-again believer in Jesus Christ with a mature walk and a love for the local church.Meets the biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:17 and Titus 1:69.Joyfully affirms Redeemers Statement of Faith and theological distinctives, including the regulative principle of worship, Reformed soteriology, and baptistic ecclesiology.Committed to joining Redeemers membership and supporting the unity of the body.Relational & LeadershipHumble, teachable, and relational, with a desire to shepherd people well.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to recruit, train, and encourage volunteers.ProfessionalBachelors degree preferred (or equivalent experience).Demonstrated ability in either worship leadership or family ministry, with openness to developing in the other.Comfortable using church management software and related tools.Compensation & Growth$24$28/hour, commensurate with experience.20 hours/week with ministry expense allowance ($540 meals/meetings, $180 resources annually).Tuition-Free Seminary Education: As part of your development, Redeemer will cover your tuition at Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS), enabling you to pursue graduate-level theological training while serving in the local church.Outside employment is encouraged and permitted, provided it aligns with Redeemers mission and values.The right candidate has potential to expand as the church continues to grow.
