Job Description
Job Title: Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - Open to Residency candidates
Location: Abingdon, VA & Duffield, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
✔️ Conduct patient assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans
✔️ Provide individual counseling sessions as part of a comprehensive care model
✔️ Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
✔️ Collaborate with care teams and community resources to support patient needs
✔️ Monitor patient progress and participate in case reviews and supervision
✔️ Uphold ethical standards and ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines
Requirements:
Certification: Must be registered as a CSAC-R (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in Residency) with the Virginia Board of Counseling
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
Experience: Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders is strongly preferred
