Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Specialist to join a trusted credit union in the central area of Oahu, Hawaii. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring adherence to Federal and State regulations, as well as supporting the implementation of compliance programs. Responsibilities:
• Monitor and enforce compliance with Federal and State laws, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of compliance programs and policies.
• Collaborate with department leaders to address compliance-related concerns and improve operational practices.
• Conduct audits to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed records of compliance activities, including risk assessments and regulatory updates.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related topics and procedures.
• Support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) initiatives and ensure adherence to related policies.
• Participate in risk assessment processes to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
• Stay informed about changes to regulations and industry standards, adapting policies accordingly.
• Assist in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Bachelor’s degree coursework in a relevant field is preferred, though equivalent education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in compliance or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Knowledge of credit union operations, lending practices, and related policies is desirable.
• Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and practices.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risk and identify compliance gaps.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities for managing compliance tasks effectively.
