Materials Engineer

Description:
Experienced Materials Engineer with a focus on metallurgical processes and analysis related to aerospace applications.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for leading R&D materials engineering efforts on several complex projects for on time and on budget delivery
Develop and ensure compliance with all project requirements
Interact with senior management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress
Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates
Ability to take a design from concept to production
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, and mechanical, software and systems engineers, to ensure successful project execution
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with senior management, design team, and customers
Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and military standards
Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Materials Engineer with 10+ years experience in materials development, coating, testing and/or processing
Established technical expertise in ferrous and non-ferrous metals to include corrosion prevention, coatings, heat treating, hardening, and/or other developmental processes
Demonstrated ability to employ first principles in design concept development
Demonstrated ability to take a design from concept to production
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, autonomously driven atmosphere
Experience with development of test plans such as mechanical testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, etc.
Must possess technical and analytical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach
Demonstrated ability to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule
Ability to create quality, concise technical reports
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
