MedHost Analyst (EDMS, EDIS)

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary support contact for all MedHost applications, including EDMS (Emergency Department Management System), EDIS, and other integrated modules.
Analyze workflows and clinical processes to provide optimization recommendations and enhancements in the MEDHOST system.
Manage user access, roles, and security settings in accordance with organizational policies and HIPAA regulations.
Configure system settings, clinical decision support rules, templates, and documentation forms.
Collaborate with clinical departments, physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to gather requirements and ensure effective system use.
Perform system testing, upgrades, and validation for new releases or patches.
Coordinate and conduct end-user training sessions and develop training materials.
Work closely with the MedHost vendor for issue resolution, system enhancements, and interface development.
Support data extraction, reporting, and analytics requests related to MedHost.
Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in on-call support rotations, as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
Experience:
4+ years of experience supporting MedHost in a hospital or health system environment.
Clinical background (nursing, health IT, or emergency department workflows) preferred.
Certifications: MedHost training or certification (if available) is a plus. Clinical or technical certifications (e.g., RN, RHIA, CompTIA, etc.) also advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of hospital operations, clinical workflows, and healthcare IT.
Experience with EHR optimization, clinical documentation, and data reporting.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and project management capabilities.
Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, ITIL processes, and healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Joint Commission, etc.).
